SALLY MANN RESEARCH

SALLY MANN

In the mid 1990s , Sally Mann began photographing landscapes on wet plate collodion 8x10 glass negatives, and again used the same 100 year old 8x10 bellows view camera that she had used for her previous bodies of work.
These landscapes were first seen in still time and later featured in shows presented by the Edwynn Hawk Gallery in NYC.
Many of her large (40" x 50") black and white and manipulated prints were taken during the 19th century using the wet plate process or collodion.

Sally has published eight books.
Her current projects include a series of self portraits , a multiparty of study of the legacy of slovenly in Virginia and intimate images of her family.
