DIANE ARBUS RESEARCH

DIANE ARBUS RESEARCH

Diane Arbus was born on the 14th of March 1923 and than died ion the 26th of July 1971. She was a American Photographer and writer noted for her black and white square photographs of "deviant and marginal" people( dwafs, giants , transgender people etc) or of people whos normality seems ugly ugly or surreal, she believed this showed the truth between what people wanted others to see and the flaws that other people actually could see.

In 1972 a year after she committed suicide , Arbus became the first American photographer to have photographs displayed at the Venice Brebbale.

Critics have accused Arbus of creating work that is pessimistic and ghoulish, cold and voyeuristic.

I like Diane Arbus work because it shows normal people for who they are. also in her photography she uses depth of field quite a lot in her images which allows her subjects to stand of of the back ground quite a lot.
